Saaja da saaj, Satinder Sartaaj, natively known as Satinder Pal Singh Saini is a identity who rose from nothing to the star’s.
Hailing from hoshiarpur, this Sufi folk artist play’s an array of beautiful instruments, Vocals, harmonium, chimta and the most interesting of them being Saaz-sartaaj which is his self-created musical instrument. He began his career in 2003 and rose to fame with his song, SAI.
Being a Panjab University student, he used to be in the limelight always because of his singing. Even now, Sartaaj is the ambassador of PU Chandigarh and hosts a live show in the campus every year. Although he has taught at university and is an accomplished bhangra performer, musician, composer and singer, Sartaaj has said that he considers shayari (poetry) as his first love.
His hollywood debutant film, “The Black Prince” gained fame too. He won the best debut award at the International Film Festival too! Sartaj is among the few who have had the privilege to perform at the Royal Alberta Hall which is a matter of utter proud.
Over the time, due to the positive fame he had gathered, he was also considered industry’s ‘MOST ELIGIBLE BACHELOR’. Many less people know of his marriage to the very beautiful, Gauri.
Gauri and Sartaaj had apparently dated for a long time after knowing each other since school, and finally tied the knot on 9th December,2010 in Hotel Taj ,Chandigarh. The marriage went completely according to traditional and typical sikh traditions. It was kept away from the eyes of media to keep the affair utmost personal.
Talking about Gauri, aka, Gauri Satinder Sartaaj, hails from Dasuya, a village falling under distt. Hoshiarpur. Having attained a post graduate qualification, she was studying for a PhD in Environment at Punjab University in Chandigarh, where Satinder Sartaaj is also an alumnus. The couple is always a beautiful sight to sore eyes. Their love seems never fading and how can it be when someone has the most romantic and innocent poet by their side for life!
